Creativity is often under-realized in our daily lives because it has been robbed of its meaning by people trying to define such a thing. God is indescribable and his creative character, which he impressed on us, should be no less confined to definition. We see this everywhere. When the world tries to define the things of God, those things end up less understood and less valued. Ode To Culture is an exploration project, asking questions and living out answers.

How it Works

• A prompt will be sent on the first day of each month. The prompts provide context to the monthly topic to articulate how they relate to culture and daily life.
• Anyone who wants to share will send their response to the whole group, and a discussion may follow. Though we often share in poetry, essay, and song, creativity is expressed in the way we live our lives. I encourage everyone to come up with their own way of responding to the prompts. We want to share the fruits of each other’s lives.

This group is a response to helplessness. In the escalating conflict of daily life, we are tempted to live in armed paranoia; OTC is an exercise in the obedience of peace. I hope you will all join the Ode To Culture project and enjoy the community around it.
